SEED OF REMEMBRANCE - SOPHIE ISADORA HABER
Sophie Isadora Haber is a creative director, facilitator, and all around generous, inspiring soul.
Having studied alongside midwife and School of Shamanic Womancraft teacher, Jane Hardwick Collings her world for the sacred was seeded. She finds her essence through connection and deeply listening to others she sits circle with. Honouring these cyclical thresholds of life she is inspired to be of service to these rites of remembering.
Sophie started Seed of Remembrance as a way to reconnect women with their ancient birthright; a connection to their cycles, living in harmony with the cycles of nature and being guided by their intuition.
We spoke to Sophie about her intentions behind starting Seed of Remembrance and why she believes in reconnecting women to their ancient wisdom.
How do you make a living?
I am a Creative Director & founder of the Seed of Remembrance. I also work as a freelance model, photographer, and writer.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Santa Barbara, California.
What was the intention behind starting Seed of Remembrance?
My intention is to connect women to their inner and outer tools and resources. To inspire a sense of global community, open conversations about various topics, and learn from one another.
The Seed of Remembrance course teaches ancient women’s wisdom and wellness, with a focus on ritual and our cyclic nature. Why do you think it is important to learn about these aspects?
I believe we were each born with an inheritance to this wisdom and it is just coming back to remembering what it's like to be cyclical in nature. It's almost like coming home to wisdom that already lies within each one of us and that is what I love about this work, it is a deep embodiment practice. I believe it is the best gift one can give to oneself is to be informed about our bodies rhythms and the way in which we are connected to a greater source around us.
What has been your most fulfilling Seed of Remembrance moment to date?
Oh there are so many moments! I am always humbled by the experience when I get to bump into those who have taken the course in person. It has happened a handful of times and each time it is so rich, it feels as if I have spent lifetimes knowing them already and we had just only met. Another incredible moment has to be when out of a group of 30 there were two women who lived on this tiny island off of Greece and didn't know eachother but lived in the same neighborhood and fostered a beautiful connection. Or when I get to meet the babies that were conceived in the midst of doing the course, always so special!
What is one seed of wisdom you can share with us today?
To trust your body and honour your feelings.
What does happiness mean to you?
Being so in my pleasure with life and being of service to something beyond my wildest dreams.
What is your first memory of beauty?
Drinking tea with my mom.
What does being a woman mean to you?
Being a woman to me means allowing the beauty of change each day to bloom. Living in my cyclical nature, meaning honoroung that I am a changing woman day in and day out.
What is your favourite thing to do when you are on your own?
Dancing to sexy music, bathing in flowers, and making lots of delicious food.
What piece of advice would you tell your younger self?
Don't take everything so seriously and that you are safe to feel.
How do you achieve balance in your life?
I honour my time of the month when I am bleeding to rest, revel in the slowness of things. More walks, writing, and gentle movement. Also come Autumn, Winter I take more time to take care of myself and that changes all the time. Balance is a funny thing and a lot of the time it's understanding that I can't always be on and hustling.
What is in the future for Seed of Remembrance?
I have just begun my degree in body psychotherapy so stay tuned for some rich wisdom. Striving to create an upgraded platform with more in depth wisdom, think Seed of Remembrance 2.0 ;)
