ETHICS

Being Skincare was created by two friends, who are mothers. Our primary concerns are for the health and wellbeing of our children and the health of our planet. This includes only using natural products for our little one's skincare, as well as being gentle on the environment to ensure we leave the planet in just as good, if not better shape for their futures.

At Being Skincare, sustainability and social conscience is considered integral to every facet of our company.  We are a young business, and continue to learn and evolve, finding better practices and more efficient ways of doing this as we grow.

PRODUCTION

We consider our environmental footprint at every stage of production. Our range has been created with minimisation of waste at the forefront, by way of formulating products that are multifunctional, minimising the need for many products in any skincare routine.

Our products are packaged in reusable glass jars to minimise the use of plastic. Our products are then placed in a 100% cotton reusable drawstring bag to minimise the use of unnecessary boxes / packaging.

Our thank you cards are printed on Envirocare 100% Recycled Digital paper stock which is manufactured entirely from waste paper and without the addition of optical brighteners, making it an environmentally responsible paper choice.

During production, we use organic ingredients where possible, and re-use and recycle all of the packaging that our raw ingredients arrive in. We then make everything by hand, which ensures that we are involved directly in ensuring only minimal waste is created during the production process - including water use, using reusable manufacturing equipment where safe and appropriate, and using single use equipment that is manufactured from earth friendly, recycled or biodegradable materials.

SHIPPING

Our products are mailed out in padded recyclable mailers with the inside padding made from 100% recycled newspaper. Our wholesale orders are packed in recycled boxes and are protected with a sustainable, biodegradable, and recyclable alternative to traditional bubble wrap. We also choose to use stamps instead of stickers to ensure the product can fully breakdown or recycle as intended.

SOURCING

We source locally and proudly support local ethical companies where possible. This is an ongoing process, and we are working towards only sourcing directly from organic and local ethical producers as we grow.

We are also in the process of creating a recycling program through Terra Cycle where each product purchased can be returned to us for full recycling.

COMMUNITY

We were fortunate enough to be able to donate to local organisations that were providing relief for people affected by the recent bushfires, as well as to environmental organisations and the rural fire service.

We also have a larger vision to support mothers on their journey into and throughout motherhood by way of involvement with community resources and charities. As we are a young company, we are still on the road to fulfilling this vision, however it is something very close to our hearts.
